As you might know, in Germany we totally embrace the concept of self service. Somebody who packs our bought products in bags in the supermarket is totally unheard of and when we can do something ourselves we are always enthusiastic about it. So you might see one of these signs on the field. You pick your flowers and put the money in the box. This can be seen with other items: pick your own strawberries for example. This feature is quite popular because you only have to pay for the ones you take home, not the ones you eat on the field during picking. Those and the belly ache after consumption of a fair amount are free. You can pick your own cherries and there are several stands on the countryside where you can find apples, potatoes and the like already picked paying thm directly in the box.
